In every semester, there were an assignment that we have been working on it throughout semester. For this semester it was named as “Gaps.” As I mentioned it in the “Fun Palace” writing, the idea of gaps is coming from a quotation of Cedric Price which is below.
It is for architects to move beyond the self-conscious set pieces and to devise, as in the best music scores, gaps of uncertainty in which the individual can participate.
For this semester, we were assigned to design a habitation environment. It is excited assignment because you know all this time we were working on an abstract manner. Now, on the other hand, it became realistic. We have a habitation environment and we are designing it. It is new and excited for us. The site where we construct the model and the programs were given us and we must analyze what can be the activity in those programs. It was not a new assignment we produce a lot of section for it, but they were all wrong, I will share with you the last section drawings that I produce and the idea of it.
I firstly study on the meaning of the given programs and try to focus on what can be the activity can be on it. I may say that those activities where really simple and basic. For example, I thought power station as a gallery where people can look and walk around, and I combined it with abeyant spaces which only use when it needed. Also, cultivation zones as study areas like studios etc. And then I try to define a spatial organization for them. Those sections were only one side because I couldn’t be able to think those spaces in other side so that’s why some of the parts are missing.
